US Federal Holidays
U.S. Federal Holidays are holidays that are established by the United States Congress, as holidays for Federal employees. (Federal Law - 5 U.S.C. 6103) Some holidays have fixed dates, and some holidays have movable dates.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is observed on Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the following Monday.
Most Federal Holidays are also observed as State Holidays. Bank holidays, are usually the same as Federal Holidays, since most banks follow the holiday calendar or the U.S. Federal Reserve.
